Nice to see Sheffield Tigers speedway team doing so well recently at Owlerton Stadium.

Captain Andre Compton is back after injury, and the team won the Premier League semi-final last Thursday with some excellent racing.

16 year old reserve Tai Woffinden (who usually stars in the Conference Leauge at Scunthorpe, made a brilliant start by winning his first heat, overtaking the opposition to do it - and went on the score well in his heats all night.

Paul Cooper valiantly fought off a terrible cold to score a vital 2nd place in one heat, and all the regulars, Kyle Legault, Emiliano Sanchez, Ben Wilson and Ricky Ashworth performed solidly.

Ricky, in articular was taking no prisoners.. how anyone can get so low to the ground on corners and not fall off escapes me!

We now have to meet either Rye House or Kings Lynn in the Premier League final!

yeah, it's been a good season, im pretty sure we will meet kings lynn in the final, which i'd be happy with anyway, as it will guarantee a good meeting at owlerton

yeah should be good, kings lynn should win, and in fairness deserve to win the 'league':rolleyes: , and dare i say it have 1 of my favourites john oliver in their team!, although ive upset people saying that, and what about chris 'noddy ' holder 59.5!, excellent talent, looking forward to finals!:cool: :D

completely agree everyones so friendly! i went to a wednesday match an just didnt feel welcome one bit!! i got stopped in my campsite in norfolk because i had a sheffield tigers coat on an we was having a chat about seans cracker and he was an ipswich fan

ummm £4 for children £11 for adults (i think but am 90 percent sure) last one of the season this thursday!!

if anybody is planning to go on thursday, i'd get there as early as you can, as it will probably be a big crowd

me too!! that was the best!! a quality firework dispay aswell really ended the season on a high :) the final was sooo scarey... when andre fell off,, then in the rerun sean fell off i was absolutely gutted! glad steady won it though!! being where hes from :P

good speedway, woofinden sensational!, my aussie sensation didnt live up to his repetation, how sheffield managed to win by 15 is amazing really!, but i cannot see that been enough although never know, sheffield though again everything going against them !

yeah, there was some supreb racing last night. tai was our savour last night, once again we had alot of bad luck, but that's sport.

Great crowd last night, although it wasn't the loudest from our supporters.

Ricky Ashworth not happy in pits. Ben Wilson from gate again, Daniel Nermark challenging for whole of the race but couldn't find away past. Was very close to finding away.
Haet 2; Easy 5-1 for the King's Lynn pair.
Heat 3; Kevin Doolan slowed on 1st lap to allow Troy Batchelor to come though. Emiliano Sanchez pulled up while last.
Heat 4; Texter says he hopes Matousek enjoyed that one. Andre Compton never even close.
Heat 5; Troy Batchelor gated well but looked a bit out of shape on 2nd bend and Ricky Ashworth flew past. Troy Batchelor never close enough to challenge back. Texter very happy at moment.
Heat 6; Andre Compton had e/f at the start line, Paul Cooper half a lap behind. Brief delay while paramedics look at Paul Cooper.

Heat 8; Ben Wilson on t/r. John Oliver fell off while in the lead on the last lap. Texter not sure why, but may of been just lack of concentration. Trevor Harding never far behind Ben Wilson but didn't look quick enough to pass. Paul Cooper withdrawn from meeting.
Heat 9; Untidy start between Andre Compton and Kevin Doolan, neither gave an inch. Kevin Doolan all over Andre Compton in latter stages but could't find awat through.
Heat 10; Kyle Legault on t/r. Daniel Nermark looked to be slowing a little in latter stages. Emiliano Sanchez totally off pace again.
Heat 11; Superb race between Tomas Topinka, completly missed the gate. Passed Ricky Ashworth on 1st lap, then proceeded to hunt down Ben Wilson. Was getting closer as race went on and passing him on the line.
Heat 12; Kyle Legault in for Emiliano Sanchez. Kyle Legault passed John Oliver on the 2nd bend but Troy Batchelor waswell gone.

Heat 13; Re-run, Tomas Topinka warned as he moved at the start. 2nd Re-run Tomas Topinka fell on bend 1. Tomas Topinka sandwiched between Ricky Ashworth and Andre Compton on the 1st bend. Daniel Nermark missed gate but passed both Sheffield riders on lap one. Tomas Topinka passed Ricky Ashworth lap 2 but could not get near Andre Compton.
Heat 14; Andre Compton T/S off 15 mtrs. Re-run Emiliano Sanchez fell on lap 2 while 3rd and challening Chris Mills for 2nd. A short delay for ambulance to take Emiliano Sanchez off track. He is complaining of leg injury.

TIGERS co-owner Neil Machin admits he has some big decisions to make in the near future.
Machin has admitted he will consider quitting Owlerton - if he is forced to tear apart his team because of a lower points limit.
Said Machin: "This winter we have big decisions to make which are different to previous years.
"Maybe we need a fundemental change, maybe I'm getting stale after 14 seasons, but there's a lot of water to go under the bridge."
