Can somebody please help me - there is an animal (sounds like a bird) trapped down my chimney. It is behind the living room gas fire. Who do I call to get it out??

thanks - i tried calling the Sheffield branch and they are closed until tomorrow!

Definitely ring the RSPCA. If they can't help directly, they should be able to suggest someone who can. Let us know the outcome.

EDIT: Just saw your last post :( . Is there not a national helpline number?

It's the RSPCA emergency line in the first instance I'm afraid, on 0870 5555 999. Nobody else has the kit and people that they have. You could be on hold and waiting a while though.

EDIT- this is the national emergency line- they're not connected to the local Sheffield branch, who are basically the rehoming arm only.
