There was a Taste and Try day at a local school ran by the S.W.R.I. where there are different crafts you can try. I chose knitted lace (http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/turra21/knittedlace.jpg)and bead work (http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/turra21/bracelet1.jpg). Here's a close up (http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/turra21/bracelet2.jpg) of the beads.

I wouldn't do the knitted lace again as it isn't really for me - too old fashioned. I remember my nana having a toilet roll holder made out of this stuff and if she was still alive, she would be 106. But I love the bead work. Oh Oh I can hear my husband now "Not ANOTHER craft!!!"

Yay another convert to beading! I absolutely love the bracelet - the colours are gorgeous. Be warned though, if anything beading is even more addictive than knitting.

To start you off on that fairly short road to addiction, have a look at these sites:

The Bead Merchant (http://www.beadmerchant.co.uk/) - particularly the bead kits.

Spellbound Bead Company (http://www.spellboundbead.co.uk/) - again, the bead kits are excellent.

Beads Direct (http://www.beadsdirect.co.uk/) - this is a brilliant supplier of seed beads and other sundries.
