We have just had some rather expensive (for us), patio doors installed, unfortunately our dog didn't quite realise their existance and put a rather fetching claw mark down the middle of the door.

Anybody know if we can get the scratches out? I''ve heard they can be polished out with "jeweller's rouge" - Where vcan I find this stuff??

Try toothpaste first - an abrasive one, not bicarb. It's worth a try if it's not too deep.

EDIT: This is probably stating the obvious :P but use it neat on your finger - not with a toothbrush and water .

I worked for a little while in a double glazing place where they always had rouge kicking about. We never used it because it was crap!! It just dosn't work on anything except the lightest of 'scuffs'.
