Does anyone remember Image Composer? It came as part of the Windows package many years ago and it was sooooo easy to use for creating images. Unfortunately, the PC I had it on has finally deceased after a long illness and with it has gone my beloved Image Composer.

Can anyone suggest an alternative? Something really simple to use? Preferably free or very cheap!

Your help and advice is much appreciated.

That's it.

It allows you to create images and save them as gifs, jpgs etc and was dead easy to use.

Surely someone can recommend an alternative? :(

I've downloaded it and will have a play around.

I'm terrible at learning new applications though because I'm so impatient and never read the bloody instructions or tutorials properly!

Thanks xircon.

There is lots of help out there for the gimp:

www.gimptalk.com is one I use a lot. I am about as artistic as a dead duck - even my stick men look unrealistic!!

I'm gonna need it! I'm never done anything with layers before... it seems a bit daunting.

Some good news though! :) I just found out that IC still comes with FrontPage 2000 and by luck I know someone with a copy! Of course this person no longer uses FP so we can uninstall it from his PC and re-install on mine without any piracy taking place. ;) Baby's coming home!!

I suppose sooner or later I'll have to come out of the dark ages and learn how to use something like gimp and about those layer thingies. I might just put it off a little longer.
