I got to the enterance and was shocked by by admission fee which was about £8.
Quite steep so i gave it a miss, however if your a beatle fan then it may be worth paying.
You will find it on Albert Dock and though its well sign posted its a little awkward to find.
Its at the back of the dock behind the shops.
You will hear the Beatles music playing when you get close.
thanks.
although £8 is a lot, it will be worth it to see my sons face.
as since the bus strike ive not been able to take him hardly any where.
we only have a barnsley bus every few hrs up here and no green buses eg yorkshire terrier.
and the barnsley bus takes nearly an hr through country lanes and we feel as sick as dogs when we get off.
so this will be a nice treat for him.(when the buses go back)
also booked for bootleg beatles christmas show at arena.
Hi
I've been a Beatles fan for as long as I care to remember. I found the Beatles Story a bit of a let down because there's very little "original" stuff on show but I'm an adult. I'm sure a kid would love it. The shop can be pricey but there's a better shop on Matthew St called the Beatles Shop.
Also try to get yourself on the "Magical Mystery Tour" around the old homes and haunts of Liverpool. The coach is a replica of the coach used in the film of the same name. It visits all the homes, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields etc.
Autoroute tells me that it's about 1 mile from Lime St station to the Pierhead so it's only a 20 minute walk. On the way though you can pass Matthew St and take a look at the site of The Cavern (now a shopping centre with a replica club underneath).

If its beetles that the young scamp is into then he can't go more wrong than a visit to London Zoo's insect house established in 1881. Not only are there beetles but spiders and worms!! He'll have a great time and at less cost than the Liverpool one. I suspect that the one in Liverpool is not an exibit but an extreme case of infestation that some scally is cashing in on.
For £8 i'd want sir Paul to show me round!!
I'll get me coat!:loopy:
I spent the weekend in Liverpool a few years ago and had the intention of experiencing this but it turned out the queue was gigantic and I was on a tight schedule so didn't have time in the end.
A great thing to do with kids if you're round the Albert Dock is to go on one of the Liverpool Duck Tours. The 'Ducks' are bright yellow amphibious vehicles that tour all round the sites of the city centre - Pier Head, St George's Hall, both Cathedrals, commercial district etc, with a guide pointing stuff out to you, then when it returns to the Dock it drives down into the water and turns into a boat. You then get a tour round the central docks, right round Albert Dock and so on. It's a great city to tour round in this way because much of the architecture is amazing, and you also have the novelty value of being in such a weird vehicle.
