I've got my shameless begging hat on this morning. Does anyone have any tiny little waste balls of yarn they'd like to donate to me? I don't mean anything of the size that you could use to knit something tiny with; just the little golfball sized bits you end up with and don't know what to do with.

I've just started textiles/embroidery courses, and am always on the look out for interesting bits and pieces of yarn/thread that can be used for embroidery, weaving or other embellishing purposes. Bits of ribbon, cord, beads etc would also fall into this category. Anything that's long enough to thread through a needle, even if it'd only do for one length (say a metre or so).

Basically, if there's anything in your stash boxes which you think is too small to use, and you would otherwise chuck away, then I'd be happy to take it off your hands. I would, of course, pay for your postage/packing costs.

I could send you some of the regia sock yarn you sent me if you like? I've offered to send some to Lisa if she decides to do jungle or nordic so she doesn't need to buy 3 balls of yarn but i've definitley got plenty of the jungle one. I'm not sure if i have anything else of interest as its abit boring and my stash collection isn't very vast i have some cream coloured sirdar denim ultra chunky yarn if you want it?

I probably have some bits that you could have. Shame you didnt ask a few weeks ago as school got some stuff. How do you feel about ribbon with woven designs (in this case chickens) as I have some that I wont use - or would you prefer plain?

Yes, cotton stuff would be great, thanks :) . I'm basically after anything that can be threaded through a large or small needle or can be woven or couched (so ribbon is fine too).

I only have reaaaallly tiny bits and pieces that probably couldn't be used for anything. You would have to ask just after I'd re organised everything and chucked everything out!

I ordered a few of these Variety Bags (http://www.texere.co.uk/shades.php?reference=45) (light natural, dark natural and autumn), plus a packet of the undyed ones (http://www.texere.co.uk/yarns.php?category=15&subcategory=1) for when I'm feeling brave enough to have a go at dyeing my own.

I've spent the weekend chained to the desk sorting out the yarn and threads I've accumulated over the weeks since starting college. I bought some lovely bits and pieces from Texere Yarns, and also some Oliver Twists stuff plus a few Ebay purchases. They all look gorgeous in their little bags when they arrive, but it's taken hours to wind them onto bobbins/into skeins, especially when the curse of the knot strikes and you've got a cat who likes to sleep on the desk. I think my bum has welded itself to the chair :hihi: .

I'm gonna send my 'scraps' tomorrow :thumbsup: still sorry they're abit late...

I certainly will :) . They've just been added to my box of yarn bits. The cream chunky will come in useful soon, actually, because I've been looking for some for couching. It'll save me buying a full ball :) .

There's some yak/merino, merino/silk/camel, merino/silk and some from proper sheep too. There's not a lot of anything but I can guarentee that it won't match anything you already have. If you would like it just send me your address.

That would be lovely, thanks :) . Anything long enough to thread through a needle is fine. The smaller lengths/heavier weights can be couched or chopped up to add to a felting mix, so those are great too.

Just a quick note to say thank you very much to Wool4brains for the lovely parcel which arrived on Friday morning. The colours are glorious and the handspun stuff is lovely. I've just had a fondle before stashing it away :) . It'll come in very handy.

Thanks again to all who've sent me their spare bits of yarn. It's much appreciated and you've saved me buying full balls when all I need is a few metres of a certain colour and texture.
