hi
i'm loking to purchase a pc on-line and was wondering if anyone one has any advice on navigating this potential minefield. i was looking mostly at the self build websites as it means i can cut out the crap and just pay for what i need while saving a nice little wedge. though i'm a bit warry as the website i was on (bban.co.uk) redirects you to a mobile number when you try and ring the landline number and the address they give directs you to a washing machine shop in surrey, all a bit too fishy.

just wondering if there is anyone who knows of a site that i can use that is safe and can provide me with a good avlue self build pc.

thanks

Get your parts from these:

http://www.dabs.com/

http://uk.insight.com/index.php

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/home/

They'll always supply stuff, and give a good quality service. I use Dabs the most. Of course they're all box shifters, so don't break anything. As thats when the trouble starts. Returns can be a bit of an trial.

You might want to read this (http://users.cjb.net/antiocuk/) before buying from overclockers. I usually use Micro Direct (http://www.microdirect.co.uk). Dabs are alright, but Id stay away from Ebuyer. Prices are good, but customer service when things go wrong (which happens often) is non existant.
