Its great to read a positive article by a person who has moved into the city (Pete Green from Birmingham) who actually appreciates the place for the unique place that is is, and is not whinging about the lack of certain types of coffee bar or more riverside flats or a sodding Ikea where you can mince around on a Sunday.
Do me a favour and dont moan about how its not as good as Manchester or Leeds you know where the railway and bus stations are.
Im sure you will find the forum Pete, Im sure the locals will point you to it if you havent already found it and welcome to Sheffield.

So can we assume that you are Pete Green?

You can. I am. And the only thing I've found bad about Sheffield so far is that loads of post offices seem to have closed down just before I moved here. But I found one eventually.

I've been here 9 years, but I still feel like I can comment as a newbie to Sheffield.

I do get tired of people complaining that we don't have the same shops that Leeds has.

If you want to have the same shops that they have in Leeds then go and live there; we don't want every city centre to look the same - towns all across the country have already gone far too far in that direction already.
