Hi,
I am knitter that has just rediscovered the obsession.
Does anyone know of any good yarn/wool shops on the Workskop side of Sheffield. I am looking for a good supplier of quality designer yarns ie Noro, Rowan, Debbie Bliss etc.
If there isn't one within 20 miles of Worksop,do people think it may be worth investigating opening a shop.
Thanks for the help.
Hi. I live near Worksop too, I usually buy from the internet or go into Sheffield, I know there i a wool shop in Worksop, don't know the name of the road, but its near the market I think
Hi, magsjean, and welcome to the group  .
I can't help you with the question about yarn shops on the Worksop side of Sheffield (being an ex-pat Sheffielder), but just a quick note to say that I've found that it's rare for small, independent yarn shops to stock much other than Rowan, Sirdar, Patons, Wendy and - if you're lucky - Debbie Bliss.
I may have just been unfortunate in the yarn shops I've come across though, as I know more are popping up with a better range of yarns. Depending on location, many folk turn to the internet retailers to get hold of the less familiar yarns (Noro, Lorna's Laces etc).
I used to work in Worksop occasionally last year. I know there was a small yarn shop at the top of a hill and then you turn left. I think it is the centre bit...sorry I don't know Worksop well. From what I remember it didn't seem to stock the kind of yarns you are after, but I agree with Hecate, I think it is rare for smaller shops to veer away from the affordable/popular/more common yarns....the internet is your best bet.

Hello, Thanks for the replies.
Oh well it looks like a journey into Coles in Sheffield and of course looking at the internet sites.
Thanks again
The Wool Baa (http://www.thewoolbaa.co.uk/) isn't far from the centre of Sheffield (it's on the South West side of the city), and is well worth a visit - much better than Coles!
Is there parking at The Wool Baa and is it easy to get to by car? I don't really know Sheffield.
There are a lot of side roads near it where you can park for free, and it's very easy to get to. If you have a steet map of Sheffield it's just off Eccleshall Rd, which is one of the main roads out of the city centre.
