Anyone know of a coin machine in Sheffield?
(near S11 or town preferred)
i.e. where you pour loads of coppers in, it takes a % and gives you back notes.

There's one in Asda Rotherham so I guess there's probably one in their Sheffield branches.

They strike me as a bit of a rip off though as they take 7.5p in every pound.

I thought they just gave you vouchers for use in the store.
Do they still take a cut if you take the vouchers?

Not long back I was putting some shopping in the boot of my car at Asda and a woman got out of hers with a carrier bag full of change. The bag split and it went everywhere...I have never laughed so much in my life but then I felt a bit guilty because she looked very upset so I helped...there was loads..she must have lost a couple of quids worth in the car park and under cars.

Bag them up into £1s and take them into a bank or post office, where they will change them up without charging you.

I seem to remember you run a bar so... Get one of your staff to do the adding and bagging and then take them to a bank (see above). That way you'll save money as I'm sure they'll be able to count more money in an hour, say £100 saving you £7.50, than their hourly rate. Voila, instant money saved.

Only if you have an account there, otherwise they will charge a fee. If you are taking coins to the bank, no mixed coin please!

Sainsburys at Meadowhall and Crystal Peaks have these machines too.

why is this in the "Going Out" forum?

I took a pint glass full of change to the Sainsburys off Abbeydale Rd once.
I put the glass in my trolley whilst it went up the esculator type thing as the store is upstairs, unfortinatly the esulator jolted and my glass tipped with all my pennies spilling out of the trolley and rolling down the esculator only to be brought back up again. It took me half an hour to collect most of it and nobody offered to lend a hand they proceeded to just stand there smirking.

i have since took my change in a sealed container.
So BEWARE!!!!

Yep the Sainsbury's on Archer Road definitely has one - charges you 7% though I seem to remember.

I tried this several years ago and was left feeling uncomforatable by the bank clerk who made it obvious that she was less than happy to be carrying out my request.

I've always wondered. Does the money have to be seperated into pounds or can you just chuck it all in and the machine does it for you?

Just chuck your money into the machine, and it will count it all for you!

Why not just spend the coins. That way you are better off. Or take them to a bank and then draw the notes out immediately.
