The argos ones are simply to fit but crap in the dark unless you get a floodlight, great through the day and can listen to whats being said outside easy to record on video.
cheers.
could someone explain the principles of the wireless kit.
eg where best to put it .
how high etc.
i know it has to be near a socket.
im pretty hopeless at things like this but i need to learn.
should go to drilling classes lol.
My understanding of the law is that you are required to display a notice advising people that a camera is operating.

Bah - spoilsports!
only if it's somewhere they might reasonably have an expectation of privacy. So that does include the public street, but not your own back yard.

I think its more complicated than that.

Personally I think you'll end up being in more trouble than you started with.
i'm having trouble finding confirmation, but I think the data protection act only applies to companies, not individuals.
If i'm wrong you'd best run off and padlock your address and phone book, and lock away your webcams.
There are also specific exemptions when cctv is used for the purpose of detecting crime.
But i seriously doubt that anyone has ever been contacted over inappropriate use of a personal cctv system.
Here's fair warning though, if you enter my premises you may be recorded on 1 or many webcams! So there.
