Considering your foolish reply is nothing to do with Vibe then I really should not entertain your comments when regarding Uniq. I did mention Uniq has improved, what more delightful comments do you want.:hihi:
As for me statin about door men in Sheffield, it is a matter of opinion and you can not alter that factor until Sheffield has a more prosperous and vigorous club scene.

yeah and i was stating my opinion ,not getting into your pompus arguement i said what i,m going to say.END OF.if you look back over posts your the one that mentioned UNIQ not me.:loopy:

Now your being childish. I do not need to argue anything about door teams as I know most of them in town any way. The sad irony of your petty retaliation is you know as well as I know, that you have had problems at both Uniq and Vibe.
Any way as it is a matter of opinion, we shall end it there and let the Sheffield community decide if they feel safe at these venues. Once again as I did say earlier, I do not know much about Uniq recently to comment. Still there was no need to nit pick at that. This subject has nothing to do with that club.

well i've got to start with the drugs.........people who say vibe/any club should be shut down just because of drugs is kidding themselves the police know this. Drugs take up a bigger percentage in world trade than steel and cars FACT!!! most people who take coke/pills smoke weed do so for the music thus meaning people ARE going to enter clubs pubs and bars around the country the police and doormen would have there hands full if they captured every single gram!!!! .................................................. ................BUT i do agree most people who take coke are timebombs waiting to explode i've done it myself numerous times thats why i dont like/take the stuff no more its crap and too expensive anyway people should all take pills and love each other and most of all the music PEACE!!!!!!!

all the bassline clubs will be closed down soon. People just can't help fighting!

see what happened at the plug?

Officers called to the club were told the gas was discharged during a disturbance during which a man aged in his 20s suffered head injuries.
A force spokesman said: "It would appear that someone inside the club discharged a canister of CS gas during the disturbance. The club was evacuated immediately and the injured man was conveyed to a Sheffield hospital where he remains."

One clubber, who does not want to be named, said the spray was discharged after a fight broke out involving around 30 men in the roomused for the regular baseline night known as Reflective.

"There had been a number of scuffles during the night, but as the night was winding down a massive fight broke out between around 30 lads - I have never seen anything like it. They were really tearing into each other," he said.

"During the fight some tear gas was let off and you could actually see a kind of mist coming towards you, but there was nothing you could do - it had us all coughing and spluttering and tears running down our faces.

"When someone said it might be tear gas, someone started shouting 'get out' and everyone ran outside. A couple of people were even sick from coughing so much."

PEOPLE PLEASE LISTEN TO YOURSELVES.
If you ban Speed Garage the people will only merge into other clubs. You can not ban popular music thats like trying to ban football for the sake of hooligans and there has been fatalities and serious injuries there. Even though the authorities try to discourage club owners, it only ends in the clubs going bust. Its funny though. You dont get this backward talk in cities like Leeds, or Newcastle. Only Sheffield because no one wants to tackle the problem head on.

Me too.. said on another thread (the one in Going Out bout Plug last Fri) that this stupidness between the clubs should stop as both are popular and it's getting silly now (myself included) haha!
As I said, it is the idiots who spoil the nights at both places, but not so much at Reflective until Friday.. Security could do with being tighter seeing as someone apparantly got CS Gas in, which isn't too good. Only wish they had detectors that flashed or beeped or summat when a total idiot full of attitude approached the door, and they were turned away.. can't see that happening though!

Anyway, as this is a thread about Vibe.. no, I don't think it is closed and apparantly a new monthly event starting Friday there, too.

I think that any type of genre of music whether it be bassline, speed garage, pop, rock or any other type there will always be some sort of trouble whether it be small or large. Its just that there is a stereotype of speedgarage and bassline because from what I have noticed the media seem to concentrate more on that so it looks as thought bassline & speed garage is more worse off than any other genre or club.

i totally agree, my local club is the only club in town and has trouble every night it is open. there is fighting constantly inside and outside and the police are always outside waiting. but you never hear about it through the media etc.

last week in the town where i live a lad was arrested for punching someone in the face then stamping on his back whilst on the floor..

2 days before this someone was hit over the head in a bar with one of the bar stools which resulted in him being in a coma (which is where he still is)

i know of 2 people that have been killed within the last 6 months through violence after or during a night out here

about 6 weeks ago a gang of 5 lads picked on 2 brothers just because they didnt have a lighter to give them, i cant even bring myself to tell you what happened to them as it makes me physically sick!!!

but the question is......................was they in or just come out of a pub or club that had been playin speed garage/bassline?? is this what fuelled them to commit such violent acts????

no......they had been in a place that plays nothing more than mainstream dance music....ultrabeat, flip n fill etc... and maybe even a bit of spice girls so im told:gag:

so do we start blaming the music for their actions??? of course not thats just stupid.:nono:

do we say that mainstream dance music attracts trouble makers, gangs and volence???:nono: no we dont.........

i think you all know where im goin with this:nod:

How can you ban a music style? The police are sensible middle-aged men. Think of your dad dancing at a wedding. How are they going to determine what is bassline and what isn't? What's to stop a promoter calling it speed garage, funky house or some new made-up pigeonhole? A clever DJ will always be able to start a set off with one thing and gradually move it towards another.

Its more that the violence is the problem, but is it not the drugs that start the violence off, vicious circle

Tony

From what I see the drugs aren't the problem themselves. It's some of the people that use them that use it as an excuse for their base behaviour. I know a few people that don't have a problem with the using, but I 'know of' a few that are interested in the illegal money making side of it.

Just a thought.

I think Vibe has more trouble than Reflective!!! but because its open every weekend playing speed garage. Reflective is a monthly event BUT generally really good. Not sure what you mean by the 'stabbing', did you witness this? as im sure it didn't even happen! Yes there was fighting, and gas. And this week thats why they did their best to up the security. Such a shame- I really want to go to a bassline night as I lover Drum n Bass and I think bassline/sppedgarage sounds fun! I'm a regular at D&B events and I know what kind of trouble there can be, ut in the main, I've always found the D&B crowd to be REALLY friendly - most of the pople are there to meet fellow music lovers and get a proper groove on! Having said that, there always are, for some reason, the odd few that wnat to spoil a night - whether it be dealing, violence, aggro etc. What people need to do is to be good clubbers and USE THE SECURITY! that's what they're there for! If you spot something dodgy - tell them!
I'm in two minds about whether to go to a bassline night in Sheff purely because of the violence, and that's something coming from a 5 ft 2 petite girl who has been to quite a few big D&B raves! Sort it out - we want to party!

Drum n Bass used to be notorious back in the mid 90's for trouble. This is just the 2007 replacement, where a lot of idiots tend to go. What I hate about it is no promoter, club owner, authorities and especially the '5' O (police) want to tackle the problem constructively for the benefit of the music scene or the majority of people who love the music.

WHAT IS COMIN OUT OF YOUR MOUTH SON YOUR ALL QUICK TO JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON WHEN THERES SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT VIBE!!! reflective`s dj`s cant compair to the dj`s at vibe just take it on the chin i know it hurts!!! reflective will never be like vibe or any other event simply because of the fact that the dj`s at vibe have more exclusive tunes and know how to mix them properly and better guest`s dj`s!. i mean like guests at reflective dont even turn up when they book them!!! that say`s what kind of night u got there! lets look how it lines up.......

on the one hand uve got vibe. with all the old niche resident`s and by the way!!! these lads are the main reason for the reflective night starting up in the first place!!! other wise martin leverton would have not even thought of puttin a night on the first place! then on the other uve got good old martin leverton witch to every man dog mum nannan, and even your neighbour knows of as a full blown rip off bloke who puts a night on. on the back of another night tryin to make more money OUT OF ANOTHER NIGHT`S SUCCESS!!! over and out!!!

Think your name says it all doesn't it, Your talkin about not puttin events down, yet you have just put Reflective down. It isn't the Dj's or door staff that is a problem at Vibe or infact recently at Reflective, its the clubbers or should i say 'idiots' it attracts thats the problem.

i love club vibe i was gutted when the niche closed down im a propper niche bird and you cant saw owt bad about the club are the people in it cos i love everything about it the music the people the smell of sweat because i bounce all nite and prob smell to so nock it.the vibe is a place where people like me can have a good time and listen to the music and have a good dance if you dont like what you see then dont come in.people who bitch about it give it a bad name where as its not fair on the people who love the music and the clubs it through to people opening the mouths about the niche that got it closed down so what if people take drugs where the hell are people supossed to take them no one really got hurt through it.......... i love the vibe and i love niche music even more i hope its around for ever xx

so what if people take drugs where the hell are people supossed to take them no one really got hurt through it..........What about the people who got stabbed and shot and glassed? Not just at vibe and niche but throughout sheffield. They got hurt. Its foolish to suggest that people don't get injured while clubbing because they do.

Haha! Hmm.. new poster... bangin on about Vibe... Look 'mate' I am female so please do not refer to me as 'son' and as I have been to both places several times I have a perfect excuse to comment on my opinion of both... I am not jumping on the bandwagon about Vibe, I have witnessed the stuff that goes off in there, heard from other people and seen photos of a friend of a friend who got his face stamped on there for no reason. Vibe attracts more idiots- fact! Not saying Reflective doesn't because lately I think it has had more trouble with shutting early etc. But I just can't stand Vibe.. so let me have my opinion on it.. you have yours, cuz judging by your name and no. of posts you probably work there or have something to do with it- I am not biased as I am simply a girl out for a good time with as little trouble as possible with good music. Yes, I agree the DJ's at Vibe are probably more well known and a lot of old-school DJ's, I have a lot of their CD's, and love them.... it does NOT change the fact that it's full of idiots, I would is NO WAY wish that Reflective was ANYTHING LIKE Vibe, because I can't stand the place after the most recent times I went, and I have absolutely no plans to ever return, AT ALL. If Reflective was the same, I would stop going there, too. I couldn't give a rats ass if Martin Leverton is making money on the back of Niche to be honst with ya 'pal'. How was it Reflective's fault that Virgo and whoever else didn't turn up a few weeks ago? No.. that was because these 'professionals' didn't let the Reflective organisers know, even after all the flyers printed. Yes, it may have been a let down for the people that may have been there for the DJ's, but I was there that night and (apart from the very end), it was one of the best nights I have had in there.
Erm... that's it... 'Over And Out' (pal).

well said get gone!!! this about vibe.you may have a point but your always there with something to say about vibe! like slaggin the door team off your not a bouncer so how would u know if vibe doesnt a good door team or does. o i forgot u play at reflective so vibe must have the worst door team in the world! saddo!! and i bet uve never been. all u do is play at reflective (BIGGEST EVENT EVER BY THE WAY PEEPS!) and sing there song! so go sing it some where else!!!

is this post referring to me??? if im wrong then i totally apologise in advance, but as it seems like it is referring to me then id like to put a few facts forward.....

1. i have never slagged vibe off!! FACT!!

2. i have never disrespected vibe's doorstaff as i have never said anything about them!! FACT!!

so there's no need for the personal attack as your claims are unfounded and fictional, im not really into all this playground banter....im far too old for it but i will defend myself against something thats not true, but like i said above, if im totally wrong here and your referring to someone else then i apologise:)

And what IS with the rant at miss_t?!! She never said jack about anything you seem to be accusing her of, can you even read (you clearly can't construct a proper sentence or use decent grammar even 90% of the time).

Well said Jenz, i agree. He sounds like an absolute idiot. One of the people i try to avoid on my nights out..

As the thread is called 'Club Vibe - Opinions', then i assume thats what is wanted?. We don't all have to like the same places. I personally do not like Vibe because of the experiences i had in there, so i won't go again, as for you lot who like it well you go, im not saying no one should!. I like Reflective, but if i got the same experiences there i would stop going too. Its the same problems at these events which spoil it. The violence. I do not want to be getting caught up in it. I don't want any of the places to have a bad name as i think its good that the 'bassline' music is finally being played in numerous clubs. But really wish the 'guys' could just enjoy their nights out with out feeling they have to brawl...

No, I don't hate Vibe (I have calmed down a bit now)... I just hate the idiots that go and like I said, they aren't just in Vibe, just my personal experiences put me off.

Anyway, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all..... (except Know It All, of course :hihi:!). xx.

Got to say there is a lot jealous anomosity against Vibe. Like it or not Vibe is the most exclusive and lucrative product in Sheffield. Even Ministry of Sound are down with these guys. What more proof do you want that this is the flagship of bass line music in the country.
The days of the trendy upmarket clubs are just about over. Unless someone from the Forum can tell me a weekly superclub that they go to in Yorkshire that is on the same scale as Vibe in terms of revenue and product.
