Shefflas88 has had to rehome her hammy and I have just taken delivery of him.

He is beautiful and the cage is flippin huge, no chance of him getting bored :P

Until Saturday I had 2xHammies and 2x Piggies but one of my hammies died:cry: he was so old bless him (RIP Pepper:) ) so now (obviously!) I've got a hammie and the pigs...A new piggie will be mine in three weeks courtesey of baileys_mum:)

The only reason my "zoo" is so small is because I live in a one-bed flat lol so if your lucky enough to be able to get what you want, don't stop there!

i think we are going to have to stop at that because we are running out of room .but i wouldnt be with out any of them for the world.

well one hammy was very poorly last week. He appeared to be going bald on his undercarriage. He seems to be getting a bit better but I think its the woodshavings in his cage irritating him.

Would shredded paper be okay for him?

The RSPCA website says it's not advisable but doesn't say why. I remember when I was little having my hamster with paper on the floor but that was also in the days where setting light to random stuff and climbing trees was generally acceptable child behaviour so who knows:hihi: ! Also, perhaps you need to be careful of the ink they use to print - this might be toxic to the little creature. But then they recommend using paper bits for their beds.... Sheesh. It's a minefield out there fox.
