Lickable 06-08-2004, 10:31 Anything like Isaac Asimovs version?
Someone told me its like bad boys with robots...and without Martin Lawrence.
Fireondaroof 06-08-2004, 14:25 I haven't seen it yet, but I want to it sounds good.
I heard that Will Smith had to have his **** sellotaped to his leg in the shower scene, cause it's too big :o
Beastieboy 06-08-2004, 23:23 I would like to see this but not too sure if I could take Will Smith seriously in it. Will check it out sometime this week I guess.
mr craig 07-08-2004, 08:05 I'm looking forward to seeing this too. Not seen a bad review of it yet and from what i've seen on the trailers it looks pretty damn good!!
I think in Asimov's version there was only 1 robot that went bad, not a whole army. But I've not read it so not entirely sure.
yes it was just 1, but the film is not even "based" on the book. It's just credited as the source of the idea.
It's very good though.
Plain Talker 09-08-2004, 11:28 Seen it!
really enjoyed it, even if it didn't stick strictly to the Asimov Story
OK, no spoilers here, but all that was left of the Asimov story were:
the 3 laws of robotics,
the title,
and erm....
the robots (or, androids, actually, if we are being pedantic...)
but seriously, the CGI stuff was excellent, and it was a good adventure story.
If you like Will Smith (MMM!!!!!!!!!!) and if you like sci-fi thriller/adventue stories, it is ace!
I highly recommend it!

I went to see this at the weekend and I thought it was really good!!
I have to admit I wasnt expecting it to be great, but I really enjoyed it.
But i tend to think if you expect a film to be really great, thats when it disappoints!

Watched this yesterday.. was pretty good.
Will Smith is obviously a movie star, but he relies too much on corny one-liners.
Was i the only one that thought this film was overtly religious in content... just a touch too subjective for my taste.
mimicraze 11-08-2004, 13:58 went to see it last night. was good, i felt it was a slow mover to be honest, got exciting about 3/4 the way through. good stuff though! great effects etc, and some edge of the seat stuff too! nice twists! the one liners had me in stitches tho, terrible!
Bar the usual cheese, I thought it was a great film. Sort of posed some interesting questions too.
I know it bears little if any resemblance to the book, but are the same sort of dilemmas covered in the original?
Never read t'book but went to see it last night and thought it was decent.
I could enjoy the CGI, chases, explosion etc amd our lass could gawp at will smith in his pants. Everyones a winner!
Miles better than King Arthur, which was last 1 I went to.
eviljock 18-08-2004, 14:02 Went to see this last week, really enjoyed it but it bears no relation to the book apart from title and the three laws.

this is more or less exactly what I said, on the previous page. (about 7 or 8 posts above)
It was still a good film, regardless.
