Hi
Could you please advise as what martial art is good and do-able for a 40+ who has never trained.Am i asking too much at this age .
Age is unimportant. Try as many clubs as possible ,and pick one you enjoy the most.
It would be a good idea to do some general exercise to help with aerobic fitness and flexibility too.

i agree with LOTAR above, try all different clubs and see what you like, i would say do a few sessions at each so you can see the range of the art better.
with that:-----> Gracie Barra Sheffield, Brazilian jiu jitsu
393 club, langsett road, hillsbrough behind the back enterance to morrisons offers just the thing that a 40 year old guy would like even if he has never trained before.
training times are \/\/\/\/\/\/ down there
oh and we have lots of new people training so don't think you would be on your own, look forward to seeing you
Hi Averi,
As others have said - more or less - it's never too late if your attitude is right. It may be too late for you to be the next world champion - but even that's not impossible! - and I guess your aim is fun and fitness? There are lots of good clubs and good instructors in Sheffield.
If you haven't trained for a while, a boxing gym may put less strain on your leg structure, but will certainly do your fitness a whole lot of good.
Experiment, and go with what you decide you enjoy.
