Oh dear 70 people have looked at this and no-one has replied. Bit unfriendly?
You'll have a great time here and shouldn't have much trouble finding accomodation, there seem to be student villages springing up everywhere and plenty of multi-occupancy houses. You may be able to take the place of someone who flakes and drops out after Christmas

Your first point of call should probably be the University - that will probably be the easiest way of finding somewhere to stay.
They have a section specifically for international students:
http://www.shef.ac.uk/international/accommodation
Other than that we have an accomodation section which it's probably worth keeping an eye on :)
Good luck with your studies and finding a place to stay :)

It depends what you're after. If you want the proper student life then the places Critter mentioned are good. There's also lots of places in the city centre nowadays. Hunters Bar is also pretty good as you'd be close to the university, city centre and some good parks and countryside.
There are quite a few French people on the forum that might have a room to rent if you don't want to completely immerse yourself in Englishness...

Salut!
Bonne chance!
