View Full Version : Walkers Group Pub Meet, Hillsborough Hotel, 12th October 8pm
taxman 05-10-2006, 05:39 PM Well its been a few weeks since the last one:hihi:
Anyone interested, especially newbies, please post on this thread and I'll try to get it organised. You don't actually have to be an active Walking Group member to attend, we've had non-walking affiliates turn up in the past just for the beer!!!
As the last one was in the city centre maybe this one could be held in Hillsborough, The Hillsborough Hotel springs to mind.
Good beer, no juke-box, separate smoking/non-smoking parts and dog friendly (for you know who)
We may even discuss walking at the meet for a change:thumbsup:
scoobz 05-10-2006, 08:36 PM Count me in, if it`s a night when I can get. Wanna break away from being described as a newbie, so the sooner the better!
Bambi 05-10-2006, 08:58 PM Sounds good to me. The more dates in my diary the better.( That makes me sound like i`m tarting it over the internet doesn`t it, well, you know what i mean ).

*puts something else on Brude*
purdyamos 05-10-2006, 10:10 PM I can't go on Thursday. Have a nice time.
By the way, why out in Hillsborough? I think a city centre pub like the Red Lion or Red Deer is fairer all round.
Strix 05-10-2006, 10:38 PM Do they allow beagles Purdy?
Olliekitten 05-10-2006, 11:46 PM I'd love to come on this one, Hillsborough would be great.
See you all soon
purdyamos 05-10-2006, 11:53 PM Do they allow beagles Purdy?
Sorry I forgot about His Nibs.
Tricky 05-10-2006, 11:58 PM Good plan, Taxman!
I quite like the idea of meeting up in different places each time, maybe S. Sheffield next time.
By the way, I'm surprised you didn't make it clear that this will be an unofficial meet which may discuss unofficial walks over an unofficial pint, unofficially.

Did the Red Lion last time so thought we'd have a change of scenery, it might encourage some of our North Sheffield people to come down as well.
And of course being "team leader" I choose the pubs with good beer.:hihi:
If anyone has ideas for future venues though I'm happy to take them on board
scoobz 06-10-2006, 01:54 PM Hillsborough Hotel would make a change from town centre, close to buses and trams too (not that I do them, just thinking about ppl that do!)
Strix 06-10-2006, 04:12 PM So are you going to the meet Tricky?
:P

rubydazzler 06-10-2006, 08:48 PM I might come along on the strict understanding that no walking will be involved, I like that pub ..

The only walking will be to the bar and back and I don't think we'll need compass skills for that
Patchy 07-10-2006, 12:27 AM I should be there on Thursday. Only a tram ride away
purdyamos 07-10-2006, 12:33 AM All you newbies are only going cos I'm not. 'Snot fair. :hihi:

Yes you did. Then for the rest of the night you discussed football, women and all mannor of stuff with your male counterparts. Not like us ladies who discussed Jane Ayre and the deep meaning of life.
rubydazzler 13-10-2006, 11:31 PM Guess who somehow lost a day this week and thought last night was actually Wednesday
This is how it starts, folks ... creeping senility ...
Patchy 14-10-2006, 03:42 PM Not like us ladies who discussed Jane Ayre and the deep meaning of life.
I seem to remember you ladies were talking about male strippers, penguins, and elastic bands! :o
