there appears to be some sort of sound system appearing daily (when its warm) on Dev Green..I'm assuming its unoficial...Now there's nothing wrong with pumping techno and all but at midday on a wednesday. Do we really need it blaring out?
Seen them the other day.
Dev Green seems to have turned into a right dumpsite.
One word-GYPSIES!
it would be ok if the music was toned down a bit . not very relaxing to sit there onm a hot summer day listening to it..God knows what the skateboarders make of it all....seems to be housed in a gasebo (sp?) with a car parked next to it...
amazes me the millions spent on those flats yet they won't even spend the relatively small amount needed to make devonshire green look stunning
There was a BBC transmitter van present, so I assumed it was something to do with the beeb. Now you mention it, the setup did look a bit TOO ghetto for the BBC.
Who knowS?
weren't the people who built the flats meant to do up Dev Green? I'm sure that was in their contract...
Got to say I really enjoy spending the odd lunch time watching the skaters and bmxers. I think it's a really good space. not noticed any problems myself. T'is a good space for the younger generation to express themselves instead of skating on the streets. Great idea: if only other cities had such a space
the skating things cool...

This sound system didn't happen to involve a very tall skag head looking bloke with a skinhead/cap and a german shepherd did it? And a Skinny girlfriend with a tattoo on her cheek by any chance?
didn't get that close but its possible...

yep, as I recall, it was a condition of their planning permission

I have no problem with that either just think the area could benefit from a bit of money being spent tidying it up

No, but the developer has paid over a contribution through a 'Section 106 Agreement' which then sits with the Council until they decide to do something with it.
Plans are afoot - they are just taking a little longer - it being the Council.
