I was just having this exact same converation with one of our customers. We pay £501.00 per month - over £5000 per year non domestic rates. In return for our money we get (according to the FAQs) Police - if we get a shop lifter or what ever they may come out to us a hour later, if we are lucky Fire - we employ more than 20 people so we have to spend thousands and thousands on fire alarms systems, getting extinguishers checked annually, etc etc. We get a visit every so often from a fire officer who informs us that the seals on our door are not matching Err - what else? At least with Council Tax you get your bins emptied. With non domestic rates we have to pay extra for that as well. |
