hey - i'm new here, so just thought i'd psot some random threads to see what you guys are into. wondering if any of you go to urban gorilla at all? i've just got into it recent, since it moved to club zero, and i'm pretty impressed, the 6am opening is a relief from the usual sheffield 11pm kickout! unfortunately i couldn't go see josh wink's set the other week, but are any of you lot going next friday, the 13th?

i have not taken my friday duties seriously due to festivals, unemployment, and old age/incontinence. However, I plan on getting there this friday if at all possible. PM if you feel like meeting up! x

yup, use the search function to look for previous threads on UG and I think you'll find that there are a fair few fans on this forum (including myself). Managed to get to the josh wink night and it kicked my ass quite thoroughly (that's a positive term by the way). Well done again maley, looked like you guys were enjoying it too. Won't be able to make it for a couple of weeks as i'm booked up and busy visiting other cities, but will be back asap.

i went to UG for the first time to josh wink and was best night in sheff for a long time. Go to tuesday clun a lot but now im the only one of my freinds up here so havent had mnay to go to UG. Would of gone sooner if i hadnt worked fri nites and generally set fri nites aside for going on the pull

UG is one of the VERY few places where u dont have to go with a mate. Ive met loads of people both male and female, who go to the gorilla on their own, cos they know they dont need to be babysitted with someone else. Everyone is real friendly, not necessarily on the pull, but just out for a good nite. Random peeps chat to you, rather than chat u up...and it has one of the best vibes in the north. Oh yeah...........and the beats are mint!!!

very true, going down to ug and meeting random people has led me to meet some smashing new friends. And on the ug weight loss system I lost 12lbs in just one evening! Go shake your bum and hug someone tonight!! x

It's house and breaks, the crowd is spot on....not really any posers at all.

hey was you working last saturday?

cos i was in kingdom...was well packed and proper rate hot.

Over the summer we are running 2 for 1 entry up until midnight. What this means in actual fact is that it costs about £4 each up until midnight and then is 6 / 7 / 8 after midnight.

There is a happy hour that runs from 10 - 11, where selected pints are £1.50 and Vodka and Dash is £1.

There is also the Urban Gorilla pre bar at Muse (149 West St.) that starts at 8pm. So have a few drinks there, make it for the happy hour at .Zero from 10pm. Cheap!

There's no dress code. No attitude. Just a passion about good music and good times without the posing!

FYI on the hip-hop front, Paul Nice is an underground legend on the US hip-hop scene, having produced Biz Markie, Talib Kweli, Black Thought, Masta Ace, Guru, AG, Lord Finesse, Nightmares On Wax, The Beastie Boys, Foreign Legion, Swollen Members, Grand Agent, Rasco and Planet Asia to name a few. Recently been signed to Yoda's Antidote label and has a fine new mix album out.
