View Full Version : Pond edging - suggestions needed mc55 03-10-2006, 08:09 PM hi everyone, for my birthday, my OH dug me a pond. Its getting pretty established now and looks fab, but we've not been able to find any stones to edge it with - any suggestions ? Don_Kiddick 03-10-2006, 09:30 PM I know where there's a huge pile of field hewn yellow sandstone going free if you fancy liberating it? It's Rovvrem way... mc55 03-10-2006, 10:18 PM ... sounds tempting ! is it legit ? Strix 04-10-2006, 01:02 AM there's a stone supplier at woodhouse mill, just past the lights, on the right hand side as you're going out of town  Don_Kiddick 04-10-2006, 09:47 AM ... sounds tempting ! is it legit ? It's a pile that the farmer has pulled from the field by the East Bawtry Road. Temptingly next to a hole in the hedge AND on a handy lay-by  Allsorts of shapes & sizes. You might even be doing him/her a favour by relocating a bit :D mc55 04-10-2006, 09:03 PM oh gawd, what a dilemma ! Tracie 04-10-2006, 09:12 PM Hmmm, please don't forget to ask the farmer for permission to liberate his sandstone... I don't want an angry farmer on here asking where he can get stones to edge his pond with :hihi: :P Don_Kiddick 05-10-2006, 10:23 AM There's loads, enough to edge Langold Lake :hihi: Don_Kiddick 28-02-2007, 11:40 PM OK, just to add to this. This stone I mentioned, anytime now the whole lot is going to be removed as 'they' are widening this stretch of the dual carriageway & already bollards have gone up. It is possible to still access the stone at quieter times like weekends & early mornings/ dusk  |
