i like a good heavy rainstorm and a nice bit of thunder now and again. Clears the air.
I don't like the moist heavy heat we get here though.

I'm terrified of electrical storms so all through summer I'm always edgy about it. I agree though this heavy heat is really a bummer. I couldn't even breathe earlier it was that muggy.

Also is that smog hanging over the city or something? Its been there for about three days now.

I'm one of the few who enjoys British weather. After a couple of weeks in Spain or wherever I get bored with every day being the same. I love getting home for the changeability of our weather.

I love the sunshine too, but it's a bit crap feeling like a wet sponge after walking home from work and having to get a shower as soon as i get in because it's so humid.

I can't wait until Autumn. I hate this muggy, humid weather. You can't move without breaking out into a sweat.

And I thought it was just me that had a perspiration problem!
I have to agree I'm looking forward to a dry crisp autumn to do some leaf kicking>

Us English always moan about the weather, it's either too hot or too cold or too windy or too cloudy. Never satisfied.

I just like the Summer, simple as that. I only like Winter when there's loads of snow. That's my bit.

I have just moved up from the South so i have yet to experience the cold winters of the North!

I have been given a shopping list tho which has been most helpful... items including:- Thermal underwear (sexy!) lol

This is great, just get your paddling pool out, sit with a beer and your all sorted, you can't do that in winter.

Well, being so much further away from the equator than the south, winters in Sheffield should be at least 1 degree colder than southern England.

Give over moaning! It's FABULOUS!

I've stopped going away in summer because it's cheap to be here, the weather here is great, the roads are quiet, and it's great to sit outside bars.

Then, come autumn/winter I get to go abroad and it's cheap to be here, the weather here is great, the roads are quiet, and it's great to sit outside bars.

Got to agree with our resident rightie do-gooder. This weather's marvellous. I love being able to wander round with just shorts and a t shirt rather than bundled up against the cold.

Yesterday went for 6 hour walk around Crowden and ended up swimming in the river pools. Today we took a picnic out to Ossington Church and just chilled in the sunshine.

Enjoy it while you can.

Max that's fair enough until the t-shirt develops underarm sweat patches if you so much as move in the sun. I'm not against sunny weather, but I hate the humidity that seems to come with it.

I'm not kidding, it's so hot and clammy, my teeth and eyes are sweating as I type! Christ on a bike! I have never felt heat like it, except for when it has been hotter, of course.

I usually find it much more convenient to embark upon an aeroplane which is destined for colder climes.

For example, during the long hot summer of '98 I got so hot under the collar after a particularly gruelling day at work, I immediately headed for Manchester Airport and took a flight to Iceland.

Unfortunately I ended up at Crystal Peaks in the retail outlet of the same name.

The weather doesn't have much of an influence over my life. I just carry on regardless. It doesn't stop me from doing anything that I want to do.

I was very happy today to see the sun had gone and it was raining lightly :)
Have found it very hard to sleep in the heat of the last week.

Raining lightly????? You obviously missed the bouncing rain storm that was 6am this morning....and again a few hours later this morning. It's still humid though. Wish the air would clear a little, very difficult to sleep last night.

Tut, typical moaning brit aint I

Forcasting a 'tropical storm' for tonight. A bit of wind should clear things a bit.

yes, but they won't tell you, because that would spoil the fun
You have to guess the appropriate clothing for each week.

I love it's when it's hot & sunny, just hate the humidity we get in the UK

What humidity? - Try 35'C (overnight lows) and Relative Humidity of >90% - A typical southern summer day :hihi:

There's no pleasing some people! - Only a few months ago you were all complaining about the 'arctic blasts' (temperatures around freezing.) I'd far rather sweat than shiver, thanks.

Today was a cool day. - About 29. The last few days have been in the mid-30's and it makes your skin leak ... no big deal.
