HI there,

I'm running/walking/asthma-attacking the London marathon in April for charity and, as I can just barely manage a mile, I need to hit the road properly.

Problem is, I find it really hard to motivate myself when i'm running on my own and wondered if anyone out there was in the same position and fancied teaming up for a 'beginners' ladies running club etc???

Let me know if you're interested at all - I'm 26, female, live in Ecclesfield but work in town centre.......am new to area so looking to meet people.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I sometimes do a really good run that starts by going up Elliot and Whitley Lane, left at the top (A61), run along until you pass the car place and left at the lights.. Then down back to Ecco. There's a few extensions of this run if that isn't enough :)

Hi Sarah,

I just moved to Sheffield, too, and my running gear is longing to get used again. I will probably come along to the wednesday meetings as well, but if you fancy going for a run on another day during the week, let me know. I live very central, so we could go running right after work.
...but I have no idea where there are nice places to go running in Sheffield!

Hello

I have applied for the London Marathon..
I can make weds evenings at the moment.

Moving to sheff in Jan, and can then run much more than that. I would love a running partner... I am female, can run 5k comfortably, and recently did a 10k.

You want to meet up?

I ran the marathon this year, my top tip is make sure that you run at least 20 miles in training at some point. Build up to it gradually. The first half of the marathon is easy, you have lots of landmarks to aim for (Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge). Once you are over the bridge it is one big loop which seems to take forever!

If you don't run 20 miles your legs will disintegrate (like me, I struggled badly over last 8 miles!). I ran 1hr 50 first half and finished in 4hrs 30.

I run a steady 6miles on Thursday nights/Sunday mornings Endcliffe Park way. Anyone interested? There's a thread on this if you want to check it out.

Where is the threat (what is it called - there are too many threats to find it)?
Where is Endcliffe Park Way (could not find it in my Sheffield a-z)?
