Brown Willy the highest peak in Cornwall that is.
Off to Bodmin for a week, walking & sightseeing.
I expect plenty of walking around the 100 acre moorland, you never know i meet the beast of bodmin.
i dont think it will be the same as walking up Mam Tor somehow.

Have you got room in your car boot for a few stray forummers? :D

Ooh, I'm jealous Willman! I was in Cornwall this time last year, and it was gorgeous... even got a bit of a suntan. :hihi: Not sure about the beast of Bodmin, but I can recommend the beers of Bodmin, which were (if I can just about remember) pretty damn good after a trot over the moors.

Hi willman I hope you have a lovely time!
My last job was working on a heritage project for Bodmin Moor - make sure you pay a trip to the south-east corner - Minions and Caradon Hill - and visit the copper mines.
Rough Tor and Brown Willy may not be as lofty as Mam Tor et al but have their own character, especially this time of year when the emmetts have departed...
And check out the Blisland Inn for the beers!

thanx for that,i had earmarked the Minions along with some Heritage sites in Tintagel & Launceston and the Hurlers etc
I cant believe after 15 years of visiting Cornwall i've never seen this part,i think i could do with a few weeks.

If you check out this link (hope it works!)
http://www.geocities.com/teammanley/Cornwall/CaradonHill.htm
there is some fascinating history about the copper industry in south east Cornwall. Also visit the Heritage Centre at Minions - it has some rather outdated displays but still loads of useful info.
A good walk is up to the Cheesewring over Stowe's Pound to Sharp Tor, Kilmar Tor and back to Henwood.
Also there is a really nice pub - the Caradon Inn at Upton Cross.
You have really thrown me now - I am missing it bad now and instead of doing some work will probably just cruise through my photos!
I am going home for a few days at the end of the month though - can't wait :)

Haven't been for years TBH. It is a nice place and do good work but fairly low-key.
What about the Monkey Sanctuary just round the corner from Looe? Amazing place, nice cafe and Looe is only worth visiting out of season!
Or the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay...

looe is on the agenda. i have more highlighted places to visit on my road map than road numbers.
visiting Truro on saturday to see my wonderful nephews and niece.so Looe could be on for sunday, with my step grand children(i think thats the correct terminology)

After you've been up and down the Willy you could visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan. I went a couple of months ago and it was great! Far more interesting than the Eden Project.
