Plain Talker 02-10-2006, 18:25 there are any number of eateries you could choose from, don't entirely know which are Licensed and which aren't. the new "Indian" one, Jumeireh, which is near the R&R bar at the beginning of L'Rd is quite nice, if you like curries... They don't sell alcohol, but you can BYO, if you so wish. neeeeeeeeeek 02-10-2006, 18:26 Shiraz persian place rocks. :) Rich 02-10-2006, 18:28 Why the heck did Martini's have to shut?! One of the best Italian eateries in Sheff IMO... Cath 02-10-2006, 18:53 Went to WasabiSabi last week for the first time. Ace. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. If you want something different give it a go. Serafina 02-10-2006, 18:58 Froggies is a lovely place. You can take your own wine and they have great veggie food, as well as meaty things! I don't get out much and haven't been since last winter when I had the beetroot, parsnip and horseradish soup, Umm... I haven't forgotten about it since! Plain Talker 02-10-2006, 22:29 Why the heck did Martini's have to shut?! One of the best Italian eateries in Sheff IMO... Andy 02-10-2006, 22:59 Why the heck did Martini's have to shut?! Maybe because they charged people £1.50 per slice for cutting a cake? Meaks 02-10-2006, 23:01 Maybe because they charged people £1.50 per slice for cutting a cake? Plus they counted every penny when you took your own wine. And the food was mediocre at best. Solomon1 02-10-2006, 23:05 Anyone know of any good restuarants (unlicensed) on London Road? 'Jabu' just next up from noodle inn. its a chinese fondu place. they heat up a bowl of stock (you choose flavours from chilli, satay etc) and then add whatever meat (slices of beef, lamb, chicken) and veg (broccoli, oyster mushrooms) you want and then drink soup at end. was delish! mouth is watering as i write this...:). we took our own wine. upinwath 02-10-2006, 23:06 London Road has many many good eateries. I haven't forgotten about it since! Noticed today that Froggies has closed down. Like you, I'd not been for a while, but always enjoyed it when I went. What a shame it's gone. I don't hold out much hope for the Italian/Mediterranean restaurant opening its place. marmite 10-11-2006, 22:05 Wasabi one, Froggies Bistro, is Seasons on London Road- top notch, and strictly speaking its not London road, but right next to it -Rossi's. voodoodanny 14-11-2006, 17:35 Wasabi one, Froggies Bistro, is Seasons on London Road- top notch, and strictly speaking its not London road, but right next to it -Rossi's. Seasons is at 238 Abbeydale Road which is a continuation of London Road more or less. Definitely worth the 2 minutes extra walk - but then I would say that, wouldn't I? :hihi: MuteWitness 14-11-2006, 17:44 I like La romantica althought it is like sitting in your front room! blue chease garlic bread :-) Also tim po moor was great. mgblade 14-11-2006, 19:30 I like La romantica althought it is like sitting in your front room! blue chease garlic bread :-) Also tim po moor was great. apart from the plastic table cloths it is like my front room, and the food is straight out of a microwave there too!!! hadn't been for years, went early on this year, never ever ever ever again!!!!!!! i know its not london rd but i can't fault Portofino at heeley bottom marmite 14-11-2006, 21:42 Seasons is at 238 Abbeydale Road which is a continuation of London Road more or less. Helenz 14-11-2006, 21:55 Luna Rossa on Abbeydale Road is a nice place to eat, i know it's not london road but it's not that far off. aligel 16-11-2006, 09:53 Blimey, Froggies Bistro has shut! What a massive shame. The food there was lovely. The restaurant in its place is called Tivoli, and it looked like upmarket Italian from the menus in the window. If anyone tries it, let us all know what you think. ;) Angie v 17-11-2006, 16:29 Does anyone know what happened to Dinos on london road? Carborundum 17-11-2006, 19:08 Shiraz persian place rocks. :) Yes this place is very good - though its very far down Abbeydale Rd and not on London Rd. julian jarvis 17-11-2006, 22:26 wasabi sabi is good and the turkish places at the towards town are OK. Sheftel 22-11-2006, 14:18 Does anyone know what happened to Dinos on london road? It's moved to the old FOB cafe site, just up from the Cathedral - due to open this month. hypester 23-11-2006, 00:25 Tim po Moor must be the worst chinese in SHEFFIELD... The chefs not even a chef...
