8 Years ago, I bought a little cast iron barbecue for £7.
This year we bought a new one, so instead of taking the old one to the tip, I took the legs off, painted it with "Hammerite" and used it as a planter.
What do you recon? BARBECUE (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v689/viking99/Picture013.jpg)

I do like that.Looks lovely. Are you taking up cobbling shoes ? Funny how we all had one of those years ago, when we cobbled our own shoes. Now we just throw our shoes away when worn out.

It looks fantastic Vike  I like the corner pieces as well! I get the iron, but what are the other two things you can see in the picture? (the three pronged things?)
What sort of state was your barbecue in when you re-painted it? I have one of those wood burner things that the previous owners of our house left in the garden... it's in a bit of a state at the moment, but I was hoping that one day I might be able to get it looking more like your new planter.. :D

'The Brainwaves Roadshow' :hihi: Or so I've heard anyway :suspect:
EDIT: Just read pattricia's post! Is the cobbling shoes reference to do with the mysterious three pronged thing then?

The 3 pronged things are "Hobbingfoot's".
They were used years ago for making/mending shoes.
The barbecue was rusty. Just give it a quick clean with a wire brush and paint it with "Hammerite"
