Strange "news". He was an Ofsted inspector at least as far back as 2003.

One Muslim father, who asked to be known only as Mohammed, said: "As a governor, Mr Khan will be able to exert a great deal of influence over the school and its policies.
That quote says it all for me, Islamification of the UK is gathering pace, it needs to be stopped.

You are right cgksheff. The title should read 'Should this guy be an Ofsted inspector?'. The report has nevertheless appeared in several papers in the last few days, which is curious.
I don't think the issue is whether or not he will do much damage as an inspector. Ofsted inspections involve teams of people and therefore he will be one among several at a particular school. I think it is rather a question of fitness for office given his previous record.

This is the Daily Mail though. They have to run an Islamophobic story *somewhere*; maybe they couldn't find an up to date one.

everybody knows that OFSTED and the LEA tend to consist of teachers that weren't quite apt for the job, yet haven't done anything wrong enough to be made redundant.

It was not just the Mail which ran this story. It appeared in several other papers at the same time, although I am not sure why it has suddenly re-surfaced. Its funny that the word 'Christianophobia' has not gained currency, as it would describe quite well the original incident which gave rise to this story. Instead, we have blanket usage of the term 'Islamophobia', which is levelled at anyone who dares to question any aspect of Islamic practice or doctrine. According to a recent politically incorrect definition, an 'Islamophobe' is 'anyone who objects to their transport system being blown up on their way to work'. :hihi:

you are an aggrivating character chaverly, and though I'm sure too ignorant of consequence that even your tongue in cheek "i'm not a racist, honest!" comments only help in inflating an already near-critical (in some cases) and serious issue affecting everybody, like it or not.
Christianophobia is far less common than Islamophobia (in our country at least) and I assume that you're the sort of person that shakes your head in a disapproving manner when there are news reports on the middle easts opinions of the west.
In fact I'd wager that you complain that New Labour stole all of the Thatcherite ideology and policy base whilst still complaining at length about everything possibly productive or useful to the nation.
Then follow it up by making a nice cup of tea from "Queens Corination" china, followed by eating dinner off "We love Maggie" plates and crying silently over the loss of poor, poor dear Diana, and swearing it was that damn Muslim family that did it.

It's not Islamaphobic to suggest that this guy may be a nutter that is unsuitable to work anywhere near kids.
Ok he is a muslim but that has nothing to do with it. He has the tact of a charging elephant and the dimlomatic skills of Ian Paisley.
Fact is he seems to be a hard line nut case. Christian, Jewish or Muslim is not the question. Any extremist who airs his odd opinions in public is not fit for a post of this nature.
We need to be teaching our kids to love and mix with all and not to hate and segregate.
