Quick note, Try note to feed alfalfa hay, its too high in calories and can cause obesity in bunnies as it is also fod in rabbit pellets. Meadow or grass hay in fine. I buy mine from Paws Here at Broomhill or Wilkinsons in town.

Lol I think I might live a bit too far away from you for you to be able to get hay from there :hihi:

But usually, buying a bale of hay from a farm is a good idea. Its fresh, and especialy get it from somewhere that grows its hay for horses. Horse feed is generally VERY high quality, and is brilliant for rabbits. It usually works out cheaper aswell, but obviously if you don't have the room then its not worth even thinking about.

It costs me £2.50 for a bale. I only get a bale for the summer though, and then for the winter I buy little bags (from the same farm) which don't keep as long because they aren't a fresh but don't take up much space, as I can't keep things in the garage over winter because my mum uses it for the car.

Yep. :) I have to admit though that since having fresh hay, Bobby has gotten really fussy and won't even walk on the pre packed stuff from the pet shop... :hihi:

now don't say that, because we are all besotted with the baby bunny we got from teny this weekend, every whim is a command, off to buy a kids playhouse as a hutch this weekend!

:hihi: Thats what bunnies deserve! The best of everything. But I know I have a high maintenence bun. He won't eat anything that doesn't grow, except pellets. So when my sister or other family members buy him treats from the pet shop (which ill only give him in moderation) he won't eat them. :hihi:

Toby and Nokey have hay from Wilkos, cheap, good quality and they seem to enjoy it. We have bought bales before but were never over impressed with the quality

Farm hay is great for them until its the end of season and turns dusty or musty eith way i try to use as fresh as you can get.
keeping the hay dry is important, Tess gave me a bale in an old duvet cover which works well

:D That was suggested to me by a friend who used to keep and breed guinea pigs, also helps keep your car cleaner when transporting it!
