My mate has cable and has bought a dlink wireless router, which I am going round to setup tonight. Any pitfalls I should be aware of? dont know model etc.

nowt that I can think of of the top of my head, I would recommend setting up the router using utp cables first, make sure you can connect to the internet that way, sort out any configuration issues and then set up the wifi as the last thing.

Major pitfall - telewest bloody installer "doesn't always work on windows XP":loopy: !!

But luckily it still works!! Had to phone tech support after the installer couldn't contact their reg server, but whilst I was hanging on:huh: , I launched a browser window and it worked:thumbsup: .

Dlink install was a dream (considering I normally buy netgear cos I read the book once and therefore don't need to rtfm again).

Still took 3 hours to set up new computer/reinstall b/yonder/go wireless/set up other PC's with dongles. And I didn't get me tea!!!

Why use telewest installer?? you dont need to use any of the telewest software :( -- uhh! sorry, Bloatware ;)

Cos its the first cable install I have ever done and it seemed the easiest way to do it - I know better now!
