http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/blondgirl1978/Knitting/Picture002.jpg This is my middle daughter (3 next monday) moddeling the scarf I made for her yesterday.
I dont know what the yarn is, it was only £1 form the market, and she chose it herself.
Its just basic garter stitch, and I only cast on 9 stitches! I originally cast on 15 and knit it when she was in preschool, but it was too fat for her neck and too short, so I unwound it and cast on 9 stitches, knit a few rows to check for size and then I knit it while lost was on.
She loves it and it was ready for her to wear this morning on the way to school!
And she needed it too, cos it was blowing a hooley!

Its very cute - havent got girls to do cute and fluffy unfortunately but I think Im going to have a go at Sherwood (this issue of Knitty) for my 2yo and something made up in Jaeger baby Merino - pogo - as it kind of looks like camoflage when knitted up for my 6yo.

I don't think i'd stand a chance of getting my 9yr old in anything knitted. But he has 'borrowed' a large tension square I made up of the Colinette Silky Chic, as it's so soft!

He'd kill me if he knew i'd told anyone :suspect:

The only time I ever wish I had kids is when it comes to knitting! I love making little clothes. Oh, and also it would also mean that I could browse in Toys R Us without looking sad :hihi: .

I love the scarf; it's perfect for a little girl :) . I love the idea of her choosing the yarn for herself too. You should get her knitting soon; you can buy little knitting kits for children. Get 'em started early :D .

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I do intend to get her knitting, I'm not entirely sure how to teach her but she's showing signs of interest now, she likes to help, mostly by holding the yarn while I knit but other times she likes to hold my needles as well while I knit.
I;ve got a kit here for my eldest who just cant grasp it. She's a lefty and I;m a righty so its a bit complicated.
I might gve it another try with her though, and get Ella (my middle one) a small kit for her birthday and get her to hold the needles with me.
