I have been looking into getting a nice big cage with a run etc for the garden for my guinea pigs. They are all three in the house at the minute and athough they come out everyday and run around I feel I cannot give them enough space for a large cage in the house. The problem is that one of them has never lived outside and as far as I know the other two were always kept sheltered too so would they survive outside now? I want to give them more room but I don't want them to freeze either!

They would be ok but I would wait until next year when the freeze isnt so bad as they react badly to cold cos of thier repiritory systems being so sensitive

Id say start out in feb, make sure they are well protected from the wind etc and have lots of extra bedding

Someone I knew used to put a warm but not hot water bottle in the cage under the hay in their bedding bit to keep them warm at night and took it out during the day. Is it safe to do this? Or is it wierd :suspect:
