View Full Version : Any Sheffield pubs doing 80's prices this Thursday?

As seen on other forums:

"Drinkers will get a boozy bonus this week when pubs across Britain slash the price of ale to just 62p a pint.
Hundreds of pubs will turn back the clock to 1980s prices to celebrate the Good Pub Guide’s 25th anniversary.
The real ale drinkers’ bible will publish its 2007 edition on Thursday and loads of pubs in the guide are to revert to prices from 1982 for the day.
Beer prices will drop to just 62p in some pubs and meals such as scampi and chips will be on offer for around £2."

Seeing as I'm off work this Thursday, I wouldn't mind a chance to participate (heavily!) in this "celebration".

Anyone know any local boozers that are taking part?

Many thanks for the list.

That's 17 pubs to avoid today (many of which I'd never wish to step foot in anyway {with one or two obvious exceptions}).

Since we’re all Yorkshiremen, wouldn’t it be better to find all the pubs serving at 1980s prices – and wait for Happy Hour!

It says only 15 pubs across the UK are involved, finding a pub in Sheffield may be a mission.

Bugger.!!

All the pubs taking part on the above link are all miles away, but I bet there will be quite a few ****** up cornishmen looking at some of the pubs on the list concerned.

Not many of em will be fit to go fishing by the looks of it.:hihi:

Well you are right, I love Real Ale.

Only, my experience of wherever beer's sold really cheap is one of hordes of drunken idiots unable to hold their beer who are reduced to raving madmen (and women - they're even worse than the fellas!).

The Sheff would never partake in a 'stunt' like this which in a way, explains why.

And you're right, I'm a bore. I know, it comes naturally when you hit your mid 30s. (I'm envious: I can't drink like I used to!!! Aaggghh.)
