I have been reading these forums for a long time, and decided to contribute something myself.
I came across this site, Quiz Quests that is a Sheffield oriented web site and treasure hunt, which I would like to share with you. This is an extract from their site: -
“What would you do if I were to tell you there was £500 buried somewhere in Sheffield? You would probably want to go and find it, because whoever finds it, keeps the lot. All you have to do to find its location is to answer questions relating to the city. Every time you answer a question, you will be one step closer to finding the cash.
When you sign up for the game, you receive a compact disc to put in your computer. On this disc, you will find the question sheet, maps of the quest area and an invaluable guide to the city. Want somewhere nice to eat? Need a Hotel? Fancy finding out what’s on at the theatre? The CD contains all of this information and much more. And also, if you’re not used to Yorkshire dialect and phrases, there is a guide, a pronunciation key and audio files so you can actually listen to how they sound. The kids section contains games and fun stuff to keep them busy while you find answers to the questions.”
I decided to give it a try and purchased one of the discs (£2.99 + P&P), and was pleasantly surprised. I have lived in Sheffield all my life, and was amazed how much I didn’t know about the city. The dialect section is great – “A shall clout thee if tha dungio!”
Please be aware though, when you open your CD case, there is a sticker inside that you will need to keep safe as it is to validate your quiz sheet when you send it in.
You can find their web site here

Good luck!
