Went up to the Rockingham Arms at Wentworth and was informed that dinners for dogs had stopped as they took up too much staff time when they were busy.

I managed to get some dinner for "Sal" but only after a run in with one of the staff.

So if anyone knows anywhere else, feel free to post on here.

In Rockinghams defence, It is still a good dog friendly pub. :thumbsup:

It is a bit unusual. We once wound up in Edale with no dog dinner, and were supplied with sausage for Brude (don't think we were chared for it either) but I suspect it had come from a child's plate earlier in the evening, as it arrived pretty quick :D

Aw thats a shame we never got a chance to try it out either :(

We will be watching this thread. Never even came to mind that sum pubs cook for dogs.

I often go in this pub and had not noticed dog diners had been removed, I thought it was just a bit of a gimmick, did people actually buy them?

If you were just ordering a dogs diner I can understand them not wanting to tie staff up, but if you are ordering food what extra resources are being used, surely they were only scraps/left overs.

In most instances where I've seen this sort of thing offered, no- they're cooked specifically for the dogs as and when they're ordered.

I can understand if they turn out to be uneconomical to provide though- most people wouldn't pay as much for dinner for their dog as they would for themselves, yet the dinner could have taken just as long to prepare as the human meal.

I think it would be fair to feed the dog if adults were buying Sunday lunches as well.

You just know what's doing to happen don't you?

I can see alot of dogs winding up with 'people plates' :gag:
