I drove past the old Myers Grove School today(dont know if its Loxley College now) and it did look shabby & old.My two sons went there in the 70s, and it was in its prime then.It now looks dirty & shabby. The field above the school is overgrown and weedy. My two sons would be really shocked to see it now, especially the one who lives in America.

I went to loxley years ago to do some P/T study, must admit when I went to myers induction day with the eldest I noticed how the building is starting to age. The neglect of the old loxley building isnt helping much, Does anyone know what will happen to this bit of land? more housing I suspect

The fire brigade were not putting a fire out, it was part of an activity day for year 7 which involved a scenario of a crash scene. It was a very informative exercise. By the way the shabby building is the old Loxley College site

Hate to see the state of the old lower school building, that was later to be part of Loxley College. When I think back to how it was when I was there in the early eighties, it always seems such a shame that such a successful school appears to have been abandoned. The overgrown playing fields, the smashed windows & even the remaining buildings signage looks dated.

Yes, I agree.Im sure the overgrown field above, was the sports field. My sons played rugby for the school, and their teacher was Allan Old who used to play rugby for England. The school was considered the best in Sheffield at the time, and even featured on Panarama. So sad to see it run down like this.I think a Mr.Hill was the headmaster at the time.

Its the old Loxley College building that looks a mess. All the windows have been smashed since it shut and the field has been left to grow into a jungle! It looks awful and needs to be cleaned up

This is so sad to read. As a victim of the art department at god-awful Hillsborough college, I can't overstate how much we miss the old place. :(
