Basically I have moved into sheffield just last sunday and have been wondering around the city. So I still dont really know the city well. However I would like to start to learn Martial Arts ( mainly kendo or iaido ). I live on Endcliffe Vale Road in Broomhill. So if possible could you add the address of the gym/area and name of the martial art

martial arts i would like to learn :
Kendo
Iaido
Jeet Kune Do
Baguazhang

I would like to learn at least one of the 4 above

thank you

p.s. distance is not a big factor

Theres no Bagua in Sheffield that I'm aware of :( The Polyversity definately does Iaido (not sure about kendo though) and there is a JKD instructor as well who frequents this board under the name jay_kd :)

Hi Jay_kd,
I'm in pretty much the same position as Sieghart, moved in a few weeks ago and looking to find something new and interesting to do to get me a bit fitter and meet some people!
I've never ever done any martial arts before at all (I've heard origami doesn't count :P) and if I'm honest am not in the best shape ever... Are any of your classes suitable for total beginners who are curious to learn more?
Thanks,
Zoe

Sieghart there is no Baguazhang in Sheffield the only club I know of is in Nottinghamshire and they teach only a small portion of it.

There are a lot of clubs in and around Sheffield and they will all post a link about there club ASAP lol

I would recommend going to jay_kd place.

The JKD centre is pretty much straight down the inner ring road from the university (near the Sheffield Utd. football ground) so should be fairly accessible for you?
