I know it sounds like a bad workman blaming his tools  but my wheel requires quite a few new bits putting on, nevertheless i've got it working, but it's a bit clunky, so i've done my best (because I can't wait lol)

Here's (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/jmb123/Picture026-1.jpg) some singles I span last night, it's some more of the organic roving I bought in cornwall, which I've dyed with kool-aid, theres about three different colours which i've then carded to blend together.

Today i've plied it with some left over Colinette Silky Chic, as its too nice to have sitting about doing nothing. This (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/jmb123/Picture035.jpg) is the result. I'm very pleased with it, as it's toned down the red and feels lovely and soft.

This (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/jmb123/Picture033.jpg) is some Finn fleece which I dyed with different kool aid flavours, then I've blended them together as i've span the fibres, filled two bobbins up then plied them together.

I like Colour

Upto now i've only span small amounts of each yarn i've made, not enough to make something out of each one, but I think i'm going to make something with them all, maybe a bag on DPN's. So I can keep it and remember how bad I was at spinning at first

Good God, they look fantastic! I'm really impressed. I absolutely love the orange/blue and the orange/purple colours; they go together really well. It reminds me of a fluffier and slightly finer version of Rowan Biggy Print (http://www.mcadirect.com/shadecards/big.htm).

I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks knitted up.

How satisfying must that be? You have the fibre, you dye it yourself, you spin it yourself and then you make something beautiful with it. I can't wait to give it a go :)

They look lovely - I really like the finn one. What sort of weight are they - look kind of chunky?

Thanks for the votes of confidence :) I'm finding nice bright colours can hide an array of spinning faults

The Finn weighs only 27grams and is 72 feet long, it is quite chunky.

The other one is 70 gram and 156 feet long, it's not as chunky, and so far is my favourite, I think it's oneo fthose you have to have a good feel of and see up close to see all the different colours.

I'm going to start spinning the natural fibers then dying them afterwards now, well, once the wheel has it's new bits fitted on monday :)
