View Full Version : Free parking for cars running on gas - application form?
discovery 21-09-2006, 17:56 Can anyone confirm where I collect an application form to claim free parking in the Council Car Parks in Sheffield City Centre because my car runs on gas?
Someone said it may be Howden House. Does anyone know?
Thanks.
Iwould be interested in this too as my vehicle uses LPG.
I havent heard anything about this scheme ?
discovery 21-09-2006, 18:41 My brother in law told me about it tonight. Its definitely right as he has a friend who does it but he wasn't certain on which department of the Council the application form comes from, though he thought it may be Howden House.
I didn't know about the scheme either but apparantly the council want to encourage the use of vehicles using LPG, hence the incentive!
Post the details when you find them im up for that.

There's a number for Sheffield. Scroll further down the page guys, the first number is dead but the second one has an ansaphone facility.
never wrong 21-09-2006, 19:20 po box 3830 sheffield is your first point to contact for the application form this is the only way it works it is postal applications only a bit long winded but thats the way they are doing it.be prepared get a photocopy of form V5 ready to send with your application form and it must be in the name of the person making the application it costs £10 FOR the year and only covers the car on the form it is not transferable so if you have two or more cars you need a application form for each vehicle

Why is LPG considered a green fuel? I know it is cheaper, but isn't it just another fossil fuel, or am I missing something?

Cleaner burning with less pollution.
If it has come from Natural Gas, it is using a resource that would otherwise have been flared off.
By using 'natural' LPG you are not using petrol/diesel and thus extending the life of that finite resource.
.... or not?
