Hmm, I think that Hillsborough roads need to be sorted out first. I live on a street that should certainly be a one way street.

Well Ollie if you have a look here (https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/your-city-council/council-meetings/area-panels/netherthorpe--hillsborough--walkley/agenda-23rd-march-2006/minutes-26th-january-2006) it details some of the plans in the pipeline for hillsborough (half way down the page)

Planner 1 is now working in Manchester, I left Sheffield Council a week ago!

Crookesmoor will follow on from Broomhill and Sharrow Vale. The Council's current focus is on delivering residents parking schemes around the city centre to form the Peripheral Parking Zone (PPZ).

However, there is some hope for Hillsborough. There is a report currently scheduled to go to the Council's Cabinet in November, which has recommendations on doing residents parking in more suburban areas, such as a district shopping centre, around an educational establishment and a park & ride site. Hillsborough would appear to be a good location for some of the trials, and the Council did say they'd look at the potential for residents parking in that area.

Oh Planner1 we will miss you!

Any idea if anyone at SCC is now going to carry the torch on SF?

And can I thank you for all your input - I for one think it has been admirable to see someone from the Council engaging in a meaningful way and willing to put their head above the parapet  Having worked in local gov myself I know how many staff are willing to just plug their ears and forge ahead lest any member of the general public actually get a chance to talk to them...

Thanks for that, you're very kind. Last I heard they hadn't got anyone to replace me, so I don't really know whether anyone else will take up where I left off. I have tried to persuade other people at SCC who are involved in transport schemes that the Forum is a good place to have meaningful debate, and quite a few do now check it regularly.

I'll still be on here and will be pointing out interesting threads to my old colleagues at SCC.

What about Nether Edge?

When Sharrow kicks in Nether Edge will have more of a problem from all of the displaced Broomhill cars now using Sharrow as well as the Sharrow commuters who will also have to move.

Have I mentioned this before :)

Residents parking permits in Hillsborough? And more parking fines?

Yet more ways of the council raking in the revenue. But where does it go..?
