Most of those listed seem to be Doctors, so how about Harold Shipman, or Doctor Death as the tabloids dubbed him? :)

He may not be much of a boffin, but at least he's British, unlike most of those on the list :)

Has to be the delightful Dana Sculley.

Anyone who can spend most of their working lives with their Marigold gloves up to their elbows in the innards of either an alien or weirdly mutated human, and still be able to hold her Cheerios down has to be worthy of respect....:-)

And she's a red head!

How come Dextor isnt there, it has to be said that anyone having that much kit in their room, going undetected by your parents has to be a genius.

I'm in agreement with RPG, it has to be Doc. Brown! Best films ever.

Disappointing that Davros, Lex Luthor aren't included!
Dr. Jekyll deserves a mention as well

OK, I want to know why Professor Branestawm isn't included on this list?! :)

Reading about his adventures provided me with hours of fun and enjoyment as a child! (And he was supposed to be British!)

Ah well....Scully didn't prevail!

But now you mention it....Davros was a good suggestion...

And what about Quatermass? Not the wussie John Mills version but the Brian Donleavy or Andrew Keir version from the 1950s and 60s?

Or with regard to Star Trek....Noonien Sung, builder of Data and Lore, or Zefram Cochrane, who cobbled together a warp drive out of nuclear missiles in a post-apocalyptic US, AND introduced the Vulcans to Rock and Roll?
