Hi everyone.

I just received a letter from the Hallam Accommodation Office saying they found me a place at "Leadmill Point".

I'm quite glad of this, it was one of my main choices on the form I sent some months ago. For what I can see browsing the net and looking at the brochures they sent me it's a quite nice place.

I will only move to England on late September, so I would like to know if anyone here has any comments on this hall, and also any photographs (my parents would like to see what it looks like, but I can find only one small picture on google..).

It is very near, very convenient for the railway and bus stations, and about five minutes' walk (if that) from the main Hallam Uni campus in pond street,and the students union if you are looking for a night life.

it is extremely central, and it is not far from the hallowed turf of Sheffield United FC's ground

Look on streetmap dot co dot uk and do a search for Leadmill road , shoreham street, and sheaf street, in sheffield, to see how handy the area is for the city centre.

there is absolutely everything including a 24h jacksons supermarket (IIRC) in the vicinity:- clubs, the market, pretty much everything a student could want!

Leadmill Point is run by a company called Unite. you will find their website at www.unite-students.com, or for the actual Leadmill Point site see here : Leadmill Point (http://www.unite-students.com/a.asp?city=Sheffield&pg=1) if you click on images there are more pictures of the place.

I lived in Devonshire Courtyard last year, another building run by Unite which is quite similar. The rooms are of a good standard and size and you should be ok there.:)

Hey I'm living there in september too, I went to see the halls on the open day and they looked great, very modern.

right hello people.
Just on the off chance people who are coming to sheffield hallam uni next year i would like to recomend leadmill point as accomodation.
I'm living there now ande i'm going to apply to live there next year as well. It's great accomodation and so close to the uni and town.
Just thought id try and put something useful up for new students
