Wednesday till I die.

The fixture list has been quite kind to us, giving us Blackpool away in April.
Should be a good weekend.

I'm not really a follower/supporter of football (except from world and european cups), but it would be great to see Sheffield Wednesday return to their former glory.

Come on you blue n white wizaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaards!

Why's that neo?
A sad bunch of over-paid losers performing way below their abilities with no commitment or passion each week.
Why would it be good to see them return to their former "glories"?
Why do people seem to think Wednesday have some sort of divine right to play top-flight football?
People need to accept that THEY JUST AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH.
They will rot in Division 2 like the unfit, inadequate wasters they are. They haven't a hope of promotion, and they wouldn't deserve it if they had.

rarstar,

This is a friendly site. If you want to pick a fight with some Wednesday supporters then please go and register on their official web site. I would prefer this forum to be used to discuss football/sport at a higher level than slinging about phrases such as "inadequate wasters".

I personally don't support either team, so it's not a matter of defending Wednesday or United - it's a matter of creating and running a good quality Sheffield web site.

Cheers.

A bag o' wind and 22 kids in short kex. How can you "support" that? Go on then if I'm pushed...Go Ahead Eagles & the John Lund # 53 Team.

Well i'm not wasting too much on them...might switch to Wednesday if they get to the freight rover trophy - or whatever it is - final

And Rarstar, it's not that Wednesday have a divine right to play in top-flight football. It's just the more intelligent and open-minded citizens of Sheffield would enjoy to have an internationally-known team again. It just makes people happy to see any team from their home town achieve.

And let's be honest, Sheffield United are never really going to get far are they? I think, as much as we're struggling right now, it'll only ever be Sheffield Wednesday that holds the reputation of Sheffield's best football club.

Yeah, I think there's one called Mann Yoou, but I'm unsure of the spelling.

Anyway, when I was at middle school, 'tween 1984 and 87, most of the lads in my year (including all the best footie players) were Liverpool fans.

Hmm. Strange as it may seem, most of my football mates who don't live in the town where their team plays tend to keep an eye on one of the local ones too.

And personally, I choose my football teams solely on the nice t-shirts that they wear.

I'm afraid it's not until the 7th Feb 2004, but on that day the best team in Sheffield will be the EAGLES!

Is it true that Crystal Palace are held in such high regard here is Sheffield that you've named a Rugby League team after them?

And I'm feeling... glad all over!

Lickszz,

Palace are still sharing with Wimbledon but I think there are due to go to move to their new ground in Milton Keynes sometime in October. Every game an away game for the Don fans - both of them!

Lot of talk recently about the Blades getting automatic promotion this season but I can't see it myself. Anyone out there been mad enough to have a bet on them?

I wouldn't bet on Sheff United getting automatic promotion either. It would be nice to see them in top flight however. I bet you can't wait to get rid of those Dons can you?

I have been wondering so I have got to ask, who is that in your avatar? Is that you or the real Zamo from Grange Hill?

Zamo

That is the real Zamo (nicked from some Grange Hill reunion picture I found on the web). Apparently we were sperated at birth... although I think a George Clooney comparison might be more accurate.

Clooney reminds me of Frankenstein. For a minute there I thought you were going to say you were the real Zamo...I thought we had a "real" celeb on the board.

Lived in Kiveton Park, schooled and worked in Sheffield until 1963 and until then went to Hillsborough to all home matches. Cannot understand how anyone can support a side from a different city just because they are successful. Since 1963 have lived in Australia, but still follow the Owls. Got to be faithful.

Do You Think So!!

Im a Blackpool Supporter and have been for the last 14 years.

You have got 1700 tickets, no tickets are to be sold the week before the game (11am K/O) and if your not in the Blackpool FC Ticket System saying that you have been to at least 5 Blackpool Games this season you will not be sold one for any other part of the ground.

Sorry if you are a nice S.W.F.C fan but this would not have happened if your manager had kept his gob shut after we won 1-0 at Hillsborough.

If Blackpool FC have to make a offical statement in conection with the coments that your so-called manager made after the game then Iam afride that is only the supporters that suffer.
