Posting this for a friend of mine as I have tried every trick up my sleeve but still stumped.

Basically he is on a dial-up connection and everytime someone calls his number while he's connected a screen pop-up appears to say that a call has been missed. All good and well but it disconnects his dial-up connection.

Anyone got any ideas?

Turn off call waiting?

Don't know what the codes are to do it but that's the usual advice.

I assume the pop up window comes from some softwrae he's running that is picking up the call waiting signal from the phone via the modem.

Is it a V92 modem? If so try downgrading the modem driver to V90 and see how that helps.
