So if you live in Stannington you're pretty much stranded unless you can get the 62 from the top end of Wood Lane to Hillsborough and then the 52 to Town or get a Tram :loopy:

Damn bloody silly First making their bus drivers strike over a couple of p a year :mad:

<pedant>

i'd like to point out the route you describes for the 72/72A/72B is only correct for the 72B and 72a the 72 goes to wombwell afaiaa.

Also, the 265 during the daytime is a Barnsley and District bus. Only at night does it become aston.

Also, should the strikecontine until sunday, the X10 no longer runs then

Also, for Stocksbridge there's the National Express a couple of times a day.

A few more for the list:
In Stocksbridge/Deepcar area:
Yorkshire Traction/Barnsley & District 23/23A/24/24A Barnsley to Stocksbridge Circular via Penistone
Powells 81 Sheffield to Bents Green
Powells 97A Parson Cross to Millhouses via City

Yorkshire Terrier49/49A from Monday will no longer serve Parson Cross. However49 Sheffieldto Herdings via Heeley/Meersbrook/Hemsworth will be every 15mins
Yorkshire Terrier 123 Walkley to Waterthorpe will be half hourly

If the strike goes into a second week maybe its time to ask the PTE/PTA to rethink the axed 2020 Rail plan for South Yorkshire.My view is if the time and money can be found for Supertram Extensions in areas which people do not want it could be better used for a wider population of South Yorkshire with reopened stations and get some funding out of EU to help as well.

You what?! :confused:

Suppose I have to enter that competition on Ribenas to win a Donkey or something... Meh, it'd probably be quicker than waiting for a reliable service to come up here.

The PTE have put a strike special pageon its web site tonight 26/7/04 with recommended alternatives during the strike of First Buses for Sheffield/Rotherham/Doncaster and options available to reach the hospitals in SY. The only problem is that it is based on the old network!!!
