Just for information for any forum readers. The following First bus is in operation during the strike. The bus is the A1 Shuttle..... Sheffield - Tinsley Park - Meadowhall - Rotherham, it goes via Wybourne, Catcliffe, Airport,Tinsley,Templeborough and Ickles(this is because it is funded by several companies). The service is half hourly from 0555 to 2100 and runs all week. Also read on first website tonight 21/7/04 if you have a weekly or monthly ticket keep hold of it as it will be valid when services resume.Monthly ticket holders will get a free day ticket for each one lost.It also says holders of PTE prepaid tickets(travelmaster etc) will also get free day tickets for each day lost.Full details to be released shortly.

The 'free' one I guess will be in scrath card format ,I guess if you use the old style i would presume you will get a credit against the cost of a new card.

Another First service which is operating normally is route X18, about once every 2 hours Sheffield-Abbeydale Rd-Totley-Baslow-Bakewell-Buxton-Leek-Hanley.

This is able to run as it is a First Staffordshire service operating out of a depot in Stoke on Trent, rather than a First South Yorkshire service operating out of Sheffield depot.

There is also the Tesco bus that runs from the city centre to the Abbydale road Tesco, these are the two First services I know of that are running as they are contracted out and paid for. However, it is the management that have been having to drive these.

Scabs

However, I noticed an A1 bus yesterday and it only had one passanger on board. Obviously everyone thought it would be on strike and made alternative arrangments.
