PTFE - Its bendy plastic that they do Navels with on Pregnant people. Poly Tetra Fluor Ethylene!

I've been warned off Van Sheiks, in honesty.

I had it done whilst doing my A levels but it was in winter so I couldn't wear gloves and it had to go.

I found it kind of comforting to fiddle with when I was thinking too...

I read somewhere that hand webs are prone to not healing properly and getting infected, with some rather nasty consequneces. When you think about where your hands go every day it's not suprising, apart from where they go in the bathroom, just traveling on public transport must mean you touch millions of other peoples germs.

No, it didn't hurt getting it done, nor did mine show any signs of growing out. It was just a bit awkward sometimes. Very easy to fall in love with :)

I had mine done about 6 years ago. It was fine until I had an accident on the dodgems with my son and broke my scafoid and metacarpel on that hand. I had to take it out as I was in plaster for weeks :(

It's a bit awkward at first but you soon get used to it and I never had any problems. Best to use rubber gloves for washing up though!
