I don't know if it used to be a gay bar - certainly didn't seem to be when Simon was running it! There were a few dodgy regulars in their construction gear who I think put off the local "office" potential clientele.
I've not been in since Simon left, but I guess the new landlord must have their head screwed on straight - opening for breakfast and flyering office workers as they walk to work can't have hurt!
