Go on the train! Direct to the airport and much cheaper - nice and easy. £40-50 for a taxi is way too low an estimate, most places will charge £60-70

Yep, £12 each from Meadowhall or town straight to Manchester airport. Can't really complain with that.

taxi will be £80 return. So unless you prefer the convenience or there are 4 of you going the train is cheaper.
If you still want a taxi, use the search function, the question has been asked numerous times.

Don't do the train unless it's a daytime flight. We made the mistake 2 months ago and were left waiting at Manchester Airport until 6.40am when the first train started to run. Not bad considering we'd been at the Airport since 3.30am. What a brilliant finish to the holiday!!

On the way to the Airport the train was running late and decided to abort it's destination to Manchester Airport. We were left running here and there around the platform trying to find another train. Next time I'll drive and park up!!

My brother has had difficulty with the train last week. Repairs mean you have to get a shuttle bus at Piccadilly instead of direct. Still a good option though

As a train driver, this seems strange to me...makes me wonder why we're all going to the airport in the early hours if there is no train between 3.30 and 6.40?!?!
i.e 3.45am and 4.35am(with a change at mann picc)

hi - i need to do this soon too - anyone else had any recent good firms? might try that transfers lot
cost isnt too much of an issue - have paid around £80 i think before - but car and driver have to be nice - not a dodgy geezer in an old transit :/ :D
