As I try to concentrate on finishing the new forum software, there is a something constantly nagging me - a shop alarm  I wish there was a rule that if your shop alarm went off more than 3 times per week (for no reason) then it should be removed and destroyed, and you should have to pay £10 to each local resident as a means of saying "sorry".

 Anyone else fed up of the same alarm going off over and over?

Not only shop alarms Geoff, also house alarms have been annoying me for some time, surely this is a technical problem that should be addressed by the companys who manufacture and maintain them.

These are the people who should pay the penalty, if one were to be introduced.

The bad thing with house alarms these days is that they go off so often under false pretences, that when they do go off due to a burglary, nobody will pay any attention to it.

Luckily for me, there's only a couple of houses on my estate with alarms fitted, and the local shops are far enough away from me that I don't hear the alarms when they go off..

Got a house nearby empty with an alarm

Goes off when ever it likes

Usually stays on rather than go silent after 20 minutes

Very annoying

Only way to stop it is throw a brick at it :hihi:

The bloke i used to live door to had an alarm that went off for hours at a time it was about 15 feet away from my ears and it sounded like WW3 had erupted.

I had a neighbour like that too.

We've set ours off a couple of times err correction, the kids have. We've now trained them to disable it when they get up before us on a weekend.

All the arrogance of the reluctant road tax payer is encapsulated in the car owner who equips his vehicle with a proximity sensor and then parks it on the street. A shrill shriek goes off every time someone walks, drives or even, heaven forbid, cycles past. What boundless selfishness does it take to treat the public highway as a private drive?

i hate house alarms...........we have electricity cuts about maybe 7 - 10 times a year and everytime it comes back on peoples house alarms go off......normally when theyre not in and they go off for hours.

anyway whats the point?
if your not in you cant hear it.
and if it goes off other people ignore it...they think ah its ok its not burglars

Your post strikes me as odd and vaguely threatening, do you want to expand on your post to clarify away any ambiguity?
